BANNED COACHES LISTS AND ATHLETE WELFARE PROGRAMS

Not every national sport governing body publishes a banned coach list. Even when such lists are published, they do not represent all coaches who have been found guilty of misconduct. These organizations can only revoke membership of members. If a coach is not a member, the NGB has no jurisdiction. It is not unusual for schools and local programs to give a coach the opportunity to resign instead of facing termination and the public embarrassment of a formal hearing or criminal complaint. Safe4Athletes does not maintain lists. Rather we provide links to the national sports governance organization posting of such lists.
